The design successfully balances operational credibility with a human element, which aligns well with the editorial direction of the issue. The “Eagle at Twenty” headline is confident and memorable, while the supporting line “GRIT. DISCIPLINE. ENDURANCE.” captures the tone of the drilling sector perfectly.
The decision to feature both current and archival imagery works particularly well. It reinforces the longevity, resilience and family-business narrative behind Eagle Drilling NQ, while also giving the cover more emotional depth. Sally Forgan positioned prominently on the cover adds personality and freshness, helping the magazine feel more people-driven and relevant to the broader industry culture.
Overall though, this is one of the stronger Australasian Drilling covers stylistically and editorially.
