99designs reviews: stories from our customers

Expect to be unimpressed with most of the designs you receive. We received 60+ designs for our Gold contest, and are happy with the design/designer we chose. But less that 5 or 6 of those designs were unique and truly of a professional standard.

I've run both a logo design contest and an app design contest on 99designs. I really appreciate the ability to see a number of concepts for my logo or app so that I can choose which one fits my company vision best. Working with a single designer to start can be risky if their stylistic vision differs from yours. 99designs has also been great for finding designers that fit my stylistic vision so that I can work 1:1 with them for future projects.

We got a great app design - and additionally we got countless ideas and inspirations from the designer community!

Overall, very positive experience. We will say this... you get out what you put in so spend the time creating a stellar brief and including strong support materials, sign up for the designer level that corresponds as closely to the level of design you are seeking, and provide feedback to the designers all along the way and during every phase of the contest - it helps to ensure you get the result you are expecting. And if you aren't getting that result, provide that feedback as well. Designers love to be inspired just as much as you want to be inspired by their designs. Product : We ended up in a great place and actually had a few finalists that were at the top of our list. It is a good position to be in when you have a couple of great options to choose from.

Extremely well polished and efficient website, always knew what to do and how to do it. Product : The quality of the submissions and the creativity and attitude of the designers were far beyond anything I had expected. A truly amazing way to get designs custom made.

Direct support from 99designs was really impressive, they were happy to answer my silly questions and provided me with good advice on how to proceed with my first contest. The site was easy to use and provided a great facility for feedback and collaboration in the form of annotations which I used quite heavily. Product : I was overwhelmed with the number of designs submitted (close to 100). The designers I met were very friendly and also left me quite positive feedback which was great. I am very happy with the final design and will most certainly be using this service again.
