"The finished site is excellent. J has a genuinely good eye, and the typography, spacing and overall polish are exactly the restrained, premium look I briefed. He also delivered real value beyond the core scope: a full site-wide SEO optimisation with a written report and keyword strategy, professionally cleaned-up and unified team imagery, building out our three legal policy pages, and getting the site connected to Google Search Console for long-term visibility, none of which I asked for in the original brief.
My only caveats are on process. Delivery ran about 10 days past the agreed date and completion requests were twice sent before I'd been able to review the finished work. The first I declined, and the second he withdrew himself when a further fault surfaced.
To his credit, he stayed with the project until every last item was resolved, took feedback well throughout, and the end result is better than the mockups I gave him. My advice to clients is simply to agree review-before-completion up front so the process matches the quality of the work, which, on the evidence of my site, is genuinely high. I'd work with him again.
