"Poor attitude once won, numerous errors are never his fault, and it is some how your fault if you get frustrated at his poor attention to detail. Do not award him winner until you have all changes. Save yourself the headache. During the contest (before he became a winner) he was good to work with, one time he made excuses for being sick. I overlooked that and was understanding. Then once he became winner everything changed. He wasn't as responsive for changes. I informed him he wouldn't be building the website and then things went from bad to worse. I felt he rushed through changes; would insist they were all made. Once I looked, I would have to go back and point by point explain every one what wasn't changed correctly, or not at all, request him not to copy others work among other things. Then things I hadn't requested been changed had been, some so obvious there was no way anyone could have missed it! He then said he was "sick" again. Here are things he has said to me after he has made mistakes: "People often judge others based on their own mindset—sorry to say. As for experience, I have plenty of it and a proven track record of excellent work". This was after numerous days of missed changes, wrong file, things being changed I hadn't requested, and I simply did not believe the errors were because he was "sick" a second time during this process. Note, he has these knee jerk reactions to criticism, this wasn't the first time, then apologies later. small example of errors so you can see 1) Me "you have this twice "to make accounting understandable...". The one at the very top, can you delete it?". He did, then a few days later it was back. 2) After he stated he made this change "Cloud-based fractional controllership, bookkeeping and tax services." It was spelt wrong 3) Use circles for the ad hoc section, similar to the About Me page (for consistency). Instead of circles, he created these strange boxes splitting up the text 4) I asked for the logo to be changed at the top (logos I provided), he changed on only one of the three pages. I had to explain that to him, then the other two got changed. Then a few days later the file was back to the original logo I had asked to be changed. These are for context, there are more than these errors. This is what he said after I became frustrated with his lack of attention to detail. "At this point, it feels like you might be venting frustrations from somewhere else onto me, which is unfair. My commitment has always been to deliver quality work and meet your expectations." Then when I clarify that is not the case, and sent a list of things asked over the last 2 weeks that weren't done (I didn't copy that list into my review). He says "I also want to sincerely request that you kindly overlook any previous mistakes or misunderstandings. I deeply value your trust, and I promise I won’t let you down again. Please know that I’m fully committed to making this experience nothing short of excellent for you." When I request not to be subcontracted out (because I cannot figure out why these errors are happening". "Basically I owns a small digital agency where we do designing & developing, I'm doing your work personally & I don't outsource work. I figured out where unalignment happens, it happens because of my mistake and my lack of concentration & now I highly focusing on your every sentence and changes." I thought things would be better but they didn't get better. This is when the second time he was sick was stated. I do not have final files without any errors, and have actually given up. He wins, I am walking away not getting what I paid for. I also am not getting the files in all the formats 99designs has stated. This isn't my first time using 99deisgns, the first time went great! But my contest wasn't open to entry level designers. So that would be my advice, be careful if you have a contest with entry level designers, you may get someone whose attitude is greater than their skill level. I am an accountant and have dealt with bookkeepers like this, some people cannot handle if they make serious errors, and instead of taking accountability, something must be wrong with me. Also be weary if a designer spends more time focusing on who would build your website instead of finalizing the design. Good luck on your project and I hope if you pick this person, you don't award them until all changes have been made. Hopefully you will not get blamed for their lack of skills, and hopefully you won't be gaslighted."

"Talk about a photo-finish!!!! Our designer came through at the 11th hour and the last entry was the winner!!! All throughout the contest, he was very engaging and wanted feedback and each time came back with something better! Listened to what we wanted and kept perfecting the final design.
