"The review leaves out important context.
I was the only party who incurred a loss in this project. I invested many hours reconstructing the entire design from a low-quality reference image, redrawing elements from scratch, and completing extensive revisions. None of that work was compensated.
I am disappointed that 99designs did not fairly enforce its own revision policy or provide adequate protection for the designer. The project reached a stage where the requested changes went far beyond the original scope, despite the platform having clear limits on revisions. Instead of protecting the designer, 99designs allowed the situation to continue until I had no reasonable option but to cancel the project.
This review tells only one side of the story and does not reflect what actually happened.
If I had the opportunity to rate this collaboration myself, I would give this client ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) based on my experience.
As for 99designs, my experience with the way this case was handled deserves ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5). I do not feel the platform treated the situation fairly or provided the level of protection that designers should expect.
