The client wanted 2x illustrations set slightly in the future. One where a group of mixed-ethnicity children are sitting in a living room with their grandmother, talking, and the other where they're watching a VR concert through VR glasses. Small edits were made between the illustrations to show the change in time (drone moved, image on wall changed, glasses added).

A small robot is cleaning the floor, a digital artwork/VR screen is on the wall, a futuristic city can be viewed out the window (with monorail, and a drone that's projecting snow onto a patch of the park), and some Christmas decorations are visible.

The images are near-photorealistic (precise photorealism wasn't required). I used various items provided by the client, plus public domain photos, to get my lighting references. No tracing was done. Wall VR pic belongs to the client.
