SDR (abbreviation of Structural Design Resource) designs steel connections, framing, stairs, rails, etc. The SDR has been constructed literally from scratch. The precise curves and sharp angles are reminiscent of bent/formed steel constructions and are obviously related to engineering in style - this alone carries the story and message behind the wordmark.
