Since the company focuses on the discovery and production of proteins/peptides for use in animal protection from diseases, the goal was to communicate strength and reliability. Specifically, the client wanted to incorporate a shield with an abstract biological peptide shape. The solution was this organic, unique-looking icon that represents the ribbon-like properties of peptides forming a shield. In combination with the clean, rounded typeface, the logo implies honesty and professionalism.

Bohemian Life Coach

This life coach wanted designs that communicated that she is trustworthy and capable, using aquas and/or pinks. She mentioned her focus on promoting harmony in her work with clients, so I chose a flying bird (loosely based on a Resplendent Quetzal) with ribbons for tails to give this impression. Along with the pink theme, I chose to go with a cursive script font to further enforce the feminine qualities she preferred to see. The process was starting with a rough sketch that laid out the basic shape of the logo, then importing it into Illustrator. From there it sort of evolved based on what looked best. Twenty or thirty versions later, this is the end result. The bird was created from scratch as a composite of a hummingbird, Quetzal, and ribbon. The font is Bringshoot, and the capital letters are heavily tweaked letters from the sketch.
