Echoes of the Unconquered

Echoes of the Unconquered

Custom-made book cover illustration created for Jeremiah Samba. Combining historical elements with a dark, cinematic fantasy atmosphere. The composition brings 3 central characters together against an expansive African landscape, with Meroë's pyramids and its city, and distant armies I uses a warm palette of burnt orange, ochre, deep crimson, and muted gold, contrasted with cooler shadows to create depth and separation between the characters and their surroundings. Each key figure here has distinct clothing, armor, weaponry, and personality to reflect their individual identities. For the backcover, I use a rugged leather like surface and a geometric pattern inspired by an actual ancient Nubian decorative artifact.

I've tried to stay on minimalistic approach (no images) but still, keep some story behind the letters. The letter A in the title resembles a silhouette of a person with a big belly (obese).

Raising the Bar | Editorial Book Cover Design for a Modern Relationship & Psychology Book

Raising the Bar | Editorial Book Cover Design for a Modern Relationship & Psychology Book

A bold, conceptual book cover design for Raising the Bar: How to Navigate the New Standards of Love and Relationships by psychotherapist Taylor LaJeunesse. The book explores the evolution of modern relationships, emotional intimacy, shared power, and the essential skills needed to build healthier, more fulfilling partnerships. The cover translates the book’s central message into a striking visual metaphor: a couple ascending a colorful staircase, symbolizing growth, partnership, and the journey toward higher relationship standards. The bold serif typography establishes a strong visual hierarchy, while the colorful staircase introduces movement, optimism, and a sense of progression. The result is a memorable, typography-led nonfiction book cover that communicates the book’s psychological depth and practical message through a playful yet sophisticated visual language.
