Le pitch est le suivant : La Grande Crise, une crise financière plus sévère que d’habitude, a renvoyé le monde entier au Moyen Age, ou à peu prè... Quelques personnes, réfugiées dans un petit hameau reculé, dans le sud de la France, se débrouillent pour ... « Fin du monde … » est le journal tenu par l’un d’entre eux, un journal totalement décalé, oscillant entre humour et humour ...

Valeria Is an Alien — Satirical Sci-Fi Book Cover Design

A bold illustrated cover for Valeria Is an Alien, a provocative dark comedy set in near-future London. The goal was to balance the novel’s themes of gender, identity, politics and social satire with its absurd sci-fi premise, without making the design feel like conventional science fiction. A UFO abduction beam becomes the central compositional device, framing Valeria while naturally carrying the title toward the London skyline. The limited red, blue and pink palette, oversized typography and playful retro-inspired graphics give the cover an irreverent editorial character that reflects the book’s humor while keeping the alien premise immediately recognizable.

The layout features a tropical border frame paired with warm, sunlit color grading to evoke a scenic getaway feel, while the central silhouette framing—a family walking together toward the horizon—reinforces themes of reconnection, emotional healing, and new beginnings. Typography pairs an elegant, high-contrast serif for the title with clean modern typography across the spine and back cover for optimal legibility and print-ready distribution.
